CONCRETE POOLS VERSUS FIBERGLASS POOLS

Nov 12, 2021

At Perth Concrete Pools, we think having a swimming pool in your backyard is a terrific addition to your home; allowing you to maximise your place for recreation and relaxation. You can go jump in after a long day, or in the middle of a particularly hot one. You will always have more fun when you bring friends around. Your house will be the place to be!

Not all pools are made equal, however. If you're thinking about installing a pool you should know they generally come in two kinds; concrete or fibreglass. While a fibreglass pool can be just as fun as a concrete one, there are several reasons why concrete pools are generally superior.

Perth Concrete Pools Look Better

If you’re installing a concrete pool, you know it’s going to look good. You can pick and choose exactly how you want it to look, from it’s color to the texture of the tiles, and concrete just looks good! Before you have one installed, have the company installing it show you some of the other pools they’ve installed to make sure they match what you’re seeing in your head.

It Adds Value to Your House

Installing any sort of pool immediately adds value to your home. It’s been found that having a pool usually raises the value of a property by an average of $30,000. In some circumstances, a pool can raise the value by up to $100,000. In the Australian heat (especially if you’re living in hot, sunny Perth) there is nothing better than being able to go for a dip in your own backyard.

You Can Make It Any Shape You Want

A concrete pool can be made truly custom, exactly to your specifications. Fiberglass pool’s come in ready-made shapes. There are only so many designs available and you will almost certainly be buying a pool exactly the same as somebody else’s. More than that, a fiberglass pool is transported in one piece to your house via truck, meaning that it can only be so big. You likely won’t be able to find a fiberglass pool wider than 4 meters. If you have a particular idea for a pool in mind, then you are going to want to go concrete. Otherwise, you’re stuck with that’s on offer.

You Can Have Special Additions Made

When installing your concrete pool, you can have certain additions, such as steps and seats, installed exactly where and how you want them to be. Some fiberglass pools do include additions such as this but there will be a limit to what you can get, and you will have no say in where it’s placed.
